Honoring the Victims of Jasenovac

NEW YORK CITY

To mark the 81st Anniversary of the breakthrough and liberation of the Jasenovac camp (April 22, 1945), the Jasenovac Research Institute (JRI) held a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Jasenovac Monument in New York.

The Jasenovac Research Institute invited the community to join in honoring the memory of the hundreds of thousands of victims of the Jasenovac genocide. This annual act of remembrance serves as a vital reminder of the history of the camp and the enduring importance of historical truth.

About the Jasenovac Monument in NYC

The monument, located in the Holocaust Memorial Park in Brooklyn, stands as one of the few public memorials in the United States dedicated specifically to the victims of the Jasenovac death camps. Each year, the JRI gathers here to ensure that the victims are never forgotten and that the historical record remains accurate for future generations.
